Hiring a designer can be a bit intimidating, yet all the time I hear people say that they don’t know where to begin when it comes to decorating their homes. With this said, I want to share my experience, knowledge, and advice to help you feel more comfortable with the process.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WHEN WORKING WITH ME

I understand how important a person’s home is to them and that most people like to have a lot of say when making decisions. It is crucial to me that my clients are completely aware of my process from start to finish. I want them to know exactly when and how things are going to happen.

I believe there isn’t one right answer for the design of a space. One of the reasons I love what I do is because it requires a great amount of problem solving.  I look at each space individually and design based on a number of factors:

How a family lives and utilizes their space?

Do they have young children and/or pets?

What is their style? What type of home do they want to wake up to?

Is it important to the owners to have a home that is classic and timeless,

something a bit more trendy, or a happy medium between the two?

What is their budget?

How much time do they have to complete the project?

My goal is not to tell my clients what I think their home should look like but to work with them to establish their desired design aesthetic and to guide them in the right direction. Sure, I will step in and offer my advice when need be, suggesting something they may not have thought of. Though, I can assure you that I will never walk into someone’s home and do a one-hour makeover. In the end, it is of the utmost importance to me that my clients are happy with the finished product.

I believe a person’s home should be a reflection of themselves and part of their identity. When friends and family come into your home, the way they experience it and see how you have chosen to decorate it allows them to understand better the person that you are and how you live. Do you travel alot? Are you a collector? Are you practical? Are you playful and whimsical?

always want my clients to feel like they can be honest with me. If they’re not happy with the way the project is going or the way I have been handling something, I always urge them to tell me—and not to worry, I have very thick skin. I would much rather get an issue out in the open than have them worry about hurting my feelings, resenting me, or not being happy in the end.

My ultimate goal is for my clients to love their home. To me, there is nothing better than when my clients come into their home for the first time to see what I have done, while crying and telling me how happy they are. That is why I do what I do.

You must know that I work differently with each client.
